"Vancouver and suburban Surrey have already laid off 3500 workers". Leadership!

If Vancouver is making drastic budget cuts we most likely need to do more. Our reserve funds I believe are already allocated and not available for alternative uses. Plus it is certainly not financially prudent to rob the piggy bank as the taxpayers will have to pay those funds back.
Don’t worry our current tax rates will be looked back on fondly after our tax rates are jacked up even more than the current astronomic proposed rates in order to dig the town out financially.

"Victoria, which has decided to roll back a planned tax increase, is eliminating some capital projects while Kamloops is about to decide whether to go ahead with those it had planned."

Sounds like some intelligent leadership in these municipalities. Cut spending! Suppose we'll see any here in Tofino?
