I'm a non native and like many others of my kind I am in full support for this movement. It may be that the only real opposition to any ottawa government is our aboriginal friends
I'm with 7:47 on this. It isn't just a first nation's issue it is all about the way the country is run for big business.
As for 9:13's comment about idiots still thinking this is about idling vehicles i guess you are right that there are some clueless people posting on this blog. Probably why the local politicians don't bother reading it.
As a conservative I am very disappointed in Harper on almost all levels. The Idle No more movement has proven that nonviolent protest can work and be effective. The First nations community has a real opportunity to be leaders in what is becoming a battle for true democracy. I support this cause 100% and am non-aboriginal and a conservative. I would never vote for Harper again but what are the real options...not dogmatic ones. If Harper has lost "ME" they/he have lost the majority. The problem is we have three more years of poor governance.

Wouldn't a roadblock just cause more idling ? Doesn't Tofino already have an anti-idling bylaw ?
I always see cars idling at the post office and bank
