A new ringleader for the 6 clown circus!
@9:56 Should have thrown your name in the hat then you clown!
I didn't see 9:56 volunteering his life to be abused by comments like those just made. There's a slow moving system designed by the province to make everyone accountable. If you don't like how the town is run, get elected as in you should have run for mayor or council. No, it is easier to post denigrating comments than to do anything about it.Congratulations to Joise.
9:56 here, Yes congrats to Josie. I feel she will be a great mayor. The fact is she has to work with 6 clowns.
If 9:56 is using a metaphor of clowns and circuses, the proper word would be ringmaster, not ringleader. Please do not mix metaphors. Doing so suggests both ignorance and laziness. Please do not run for council.
I think Josie has a great opportunity in this new position. She is a bright thoughtful person. As for her comments about affordable housing...do some research. It is a bad idea that has wasted too much money already! this town has an ultrahigh EI participation rate. We do not need to support such "Lifestyle" choices made by the intentionally unemployed.
did it ever occur to those of you who advise: run for public office or shut up! to those of us who are critical of the hourglass, politics, & governance, that some of us already have been in office before the hourglass was decreed.the comments made here are reflective of some of that insider experience reflecting the frustration of having to be part of an antiquated system of conducting the business of running a small town......and not changing anything. in fact, the system has changed itself to become less than democratic, less free, and less fun.WTF happened?time for people, 9:56, who take democracy for granted to at least wake up.congratulations to mayor josie!!
hey 11:41: try finding a job here about now. not finding one isnt exactly intentional.re: affordable housing or whatever it will be called.there are no successful resort communities in n. america that do not have some form of affordable housing as an organ of the resort community.ucluelet isnt the equivalent of affordable housing for tofino.
Hey 6:38pm I have a full time job in Tofino, but cannot afford to live there. I see no problem with this solution. Tofino is great but if you can't afford it there are other great communities in the area. The only thing I seem to be entitled to is death and taxes. :) I'm OK with that. I'm not trying to inflammatory just my opinion.
@5:20 You're an hour late, but right on the money.
