I would be so proud of our town if we got an award for something real/useful. Imagine an award for a working sewer/water/treatment plant. Instead we get an a self serving award from a group of consultants called "city spaces" or some such nonsense. I guess, however, it's better than being poked in the eye with a stick.
How about an award for best looking firehall ?? Funny to hear the mayor singing praises of the previous council
Regardless of whether one agrees with the Revitalization Plan or not; this award is a deserved "pat on the back" to the members of the Community who put in countless hours while volunteering for the Downtown Revitalization Committee.Duncan McMaster
DuncanI agree with you 100% that the carefully selected volunteers of the revitalization committee deserve a pat on the back, if for no other reason than having had to endure a process with a pre-determined conclusion.Further, in the interests of saving taxpayers money; would it not be cheaper to rent/use a tractor mower to clean up the mup ditch? I suspect that a $30/hr employee + expenses weed-whacking is considerably more expensive per mile.PS I post on this blog because emails to mayor & council go ignored/unacknowledged.
