James William (Jamie) Collins passed accidentally on Aug. 17, 2012.
Beloved
son of Ann and Bob Collins, inspirational brother to Don (Steph) and
Laura (Ivan) Olsen, and best friend to Isla Thomas. Jamie is also
mourned by his Grandmother Bernice Collins, many aunts, uncles, cousins,
a large extended family, his constant canine companion Paxton and a
legion of cherished friends. Jamie was born on June 1, 1979 and was
raised on the family farm in the Alberni Valley. He attended Sproat
Elementary, A.W. Neill Secondary and ADSS. He was a long-time member of
the Alberni Valley 4-H Calf Club and was a gifted school athlete. His
passion and talent for skateboarding coupled with his kind, caring
nature, irrepressible sense of humour, and enormous heart has made him a
legend in the BC skating community. He has been a third generation
carpenter in Tofino since 2003.
An outdoor celebration of life
will take place at Collins Farm / Arrowvale Campground, 5955 Hector Rd.,
Port Alberni on Sunday August 26 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. No flowers
please. Those who wish may donate to a memorial fund in support of kid's
sports: Jamie Collins Legend and Legacy Fund. Acct. # (see new #) at
