I can understand these protesters taking out their frustrations on the tourists themselves. It makes a compelling headline. However, surly their protests need to be directed at the local governments for buying into an downward economic spiral for local folks.
Tofino used to be a great and inexpensive place. What happened?
Logging and fishing declined and were replaced by the tourism sector . The woke portion of the population increased and we have had successive anti-development councils. There has been next to nothing done on the water since Sharp Road came on line. Does anywhere else in the world lose money on pay parking ? Nice day though !
