Was going to post a massive rant but in the end it is all of our faults. We, all Tofitians, should be at meetings and letting council know that they are misdirected in almost every aspect of governance.

A long time ago it was put forward as a motion by a particular councillor that Tofino take a stand on the issue of abortion. No one else on council had any stomach or patience for the subject as it was Federal responsibility, and Tofino did not have a unique position that needed expression in a municipal forum.

A while later there was the desire to declare Tofino a nuclear free zone. Most coucillors decided it already was, with little likelihood of changing, and the motion was superfluous.

Such Wisdom

Sounds like this council may want to strike a committee to review those decisions and send a strong contingent off to Ottawa to forcefully represent us on questions of such urgency to the running of the town.

I am reminded of Stephen Leacock's "Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town" and the story of the town councillor, who mounted his horse with great vigore and "rode madly off, in all directions."

You just can not make this stuff up.

It is getting scary, Blanchette is making some sense.

There is a really easy solution to traffic congestion. Let's just set up a roadblock and turn all the tourists back at the junction.

Let them eat cake ...gluten free of course, while taking a selfie, at a rally for the hottest issue of political correctness. It's summer isn't it time for the National jester to show his smiling face while photobombing an event to ensure his spell on the Namaste Army. Summer may we all enjoy the comedy of life.
