I was shocked to find some of these posts while searching the internet for TFW stories. The stories from the Tofino Chamber of Commerce and local resorts are particularly disturbing.Shame on them !! I'm all for immigration but to bring people over to Canada to work for 2 years and then send them home is grossly unfair.

How did we get in this mess? The Conservatives have allowed the TFW program to go from helping employers with short-term labour needs to one that is quickly becoming a permanent pool of submissive, low-cost replacement workers. That is what they have developed for the country. In the process, they are creating employer dependency on the program and robbing Canadians of work opportunities, especially those Canadians who are underemployed, those sectors such as aboriginal people, young people, and persons with disabilities. These people are being further disadvantaged by the creation of this large pool of temporary foreign workers.

Why are you stirring the pot ?

Canadian workers suck. Ask any local business.

No TFWs at Middle Beach and some other establishments. If they can hire locally I would suggest that the Labour Market Opinion is incorrect.

The Temporary Foreign Worker program is the modern day slave trade.

Could an affordable TFW with better work ethic & actual business knowledge make a difference managing the Chamber of Commerce ?

After working for years alongside the amazing Philippine people at Long Beach Lodge there is absolutely NO contest between the dedication and work ethic of these people. Mostly they are true, family orientated amazing people who deserve more credit than any Canadian counterpart. Me included. Too many examples to claim but lets just say once the ONE female Public Space cleaner left, they had to hire 3 Canadians and they didn't do half of the job.
