First we will take your guns, then we will choose who we think is worthy of having a business because we know best. A gloomy future at best for NZ. Scarey to think that Canada will follow their lead.
NZ has a long history of flirting with socialist disaster. Read up on what happened in the 60s and 70s. Hyper inflation and nothing worked. I am all for protecting the environment but the government intending to create new business. costing millions. How can it go wrong? We know how. They have a left wing gov't now. Their economy is living off rising real estate values and an influx of foreign money. Just like Canada and especially BC. That may be ending as there is now a feeling to keep the foreigners out, when the locals can't compete for housing. Now they want only "high value" tourism. So much for diversity and inclusion. Troubles coming to the shaky isles.
And China as the primary market for their resources and farm and forest products. Can you see a dilemma. They will get squeezed, the way Aust is getting squeezed and the way Canada is getting squeezed
Maybe Tofino could start with no more VR licences being issued. I also like what Ottawa did with limiting the potential for absentee landlords to earn money from investment properties. Seems like a simple way to open more housing as well.

What is the point of not issuing VR licenses, when they don't enforce the rules as it is.
Besides who needs more housing anyway. Is there no room in the workhouses.
