It appears that it is the same issue everywhere, where vocation rentals push out anyone wanting to live and work in the service industry. Hard to blame the folks that own legal vacation rentals, they are trying to live in the community too. Districts, like Tofino , should have seen the result of zoning so many properties allowing vacation rentals. They should have realized that vacation rentals would displace everyone trying to rent in the community. The only solution is to to allow the development of purpose built work force rental housing units.
