Lame story. I want hate !

Gordo getting hystericsal again. Let's remember, Gordo and outrage are old friends. I thought volunteers had volunteered.... Perhaps he should pay the volunteers himself. Without their volunteerism Gordo would have no story to exploit, no white steed to mount. Maybe the volunteers would accept a few of those bikes Gordo has lying around, to ride the new Parks Canada trail.

News flash.....Here is the real story.....Parks Canada staff are overworked and underpaid......Really, Is this fake news or just alternate facts. Seems like Gordo has some competition as a propagandist.....

Parks Canada staff are overworked and underpaid? What fucking planet are you from?...... I don't believe the volunteers are asking to be paid, only to have some support for their organizations. (Which they very well deserve) Parks Canada is only going to spend the money on things like "a wine and cheese party for staff" (Yes!! They actually have!!)

Gordo last seen loading his bicycle on Al Gore's solar powered plane.

I took 6:14 to be sarcastic in regard to Parks Canada being "overworked and under paid" and agree completely. I can only hope that the original quote by Gord Johns, of them being "underfunded and understaffed", is a misprint. Surely Gord Johns meant they are "overfunded and overstaffed", That makes a lot more sense, now that I read it correctly.

Glad to hear that Gordo sold his house to a local family at an affordable price. My vote was well placed.

Ha " underworked & overpaid " sounds like the DOT
cushy cushy civil servants
BTW Gordo also VR'd his place

Tofino Housing Corporation ? Really ?
obviously underworked & overpaid !!

I believe Gordo sold his house for around 700k .
Will post the exact figure when BC Assessment publishes it. Glad to see Gordo embrace capitalism !

Re Gordo's "embrace of capitalism". Gordo is not ideologically driven. He will embrace anything where he has something to gain...

700k ??
Affordable??
Hmmm maybe SC will be affordable afterall
700k should get you a 3 bedroom

Anonymous said...

Guess that might as well sell it for 700K, since it can no longer be rented as an illegal vacation rental, as in the past.

Ralph Tieleman said...

It had a license . There was a caretaker of sorts

Oh, I thought all vacation rentals were illegal, or , at best, evil. Those homes should be available for families to live in. Nice families, with jobs, and children, and a dog, and a desire to be a part of a healthy vibrant growing community. The type of community that someone else has decided that we all should live in. One mommy, one daddy, two kiddies, one dog, one cat. Just like a fucking storybook. Happily ever after.

3:23 PM, was that supposed to be witty. Someone pee in your cornflakes today. "Lame story! I want hate!" your dreams have been answered.

Ralph Tieleman said...

The real hate is in the comments I don't post. Vacation Rentals unpopular with some people.

Anonymous said...

Cut 3:23 some slack. He's having problems with his non conforming VR.

On another subject: What's up with Fawlty Towers and the white helicopter ?

wow - i can only imagine the comments you are not posting Ralph ?
you've been here a very long time , can you believe how divided this town has become ? truly unbelievable !

Let's understand that things that are fundamental to peoples existence like housing and income are likely to get folks worked up. Like many issues in the past, and as we see today, Tofitians are engaged in vigorous debate on all sides.

A few take it too far, but that small percentage who feel they have "social license" or "entitlement" to be aggressive, rude and disrespectful should not be considered as representative. We survived the "War in the Woods" which pit town against town, neighbour against neighbour, and even family members against each other. Things ain't so bad. I am sure will get through this as well, with a positive direction going forward....

It's all Gordo's fault.

He and outrage are old friends. Indeed. I never would have thought along those lines had I not heard it from someone else. For years I thought that I was the only target of his anger, ever. He comes across as such a nice guy, one that cares about his constituents, a true social justice warrior.

One beautiful August afternoon years ago as a result of a miscommunication by one of his employees, he took the liberty of tearing a strip out of me, aggressively shaming me at a local Tofino establishment in the presence of many tourists. Realizing that he did not know what he was talking about, I simply walked away from the sight of this misguided, vitriol spewing little man. I knew by the glaze over his eyes, he probably wasn’t serious. He just needed to vent. A case of male PMS perhaps.

I almost retched upon learning that he is being paid 165K per year and if he gets reelected, he will be given the golden parachute pension plan, meaning we will all be stuck paying for his cushy retirement. I think he found a way to capitalize on these emotional outbursts. The house of commons is a perfect place to stamp your feet and bang your fists in a show of concern. I wonder though if these politicians are truly concerned about the issues they spout off about or if these theatrical acts are simply used to draw attention to themselves.

Whenever I get his pamphlets in the mail, you know the ones with that most unnatural of smiles a.k.a., fake, I simply crumple them up and toss them in the round file.

I do not think he genuinely cares about those people who helped clean up the beaches. They just happen to be there. To be used as an opportunity to advance his own political status.

Location was the reason that that old bug infested shack, (once situated on skids over at the airport), fetched a whopping 700K. For the brief time that it was operated as an illegal VR, he never saw so much money in his life. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. During his campaign, he immediately embellished himself as a successful entrepreneur who had done well in the tourist accommodation industry or something to that effect. Voters from out of town read that and voted accordingly thinking they were electing someone with financial savvy.

"D'oh!" as Homer Simpson would say.

Ralph Tieleman said...

@6:11 Gordo had a license for his VR.

Anonymous said...

Ralphy, "Gordo had a license", does not mean it was legal. For years DOT did not do the job...... Outrage for Gored is used as a badge of moral superiority, for purposes of self grandizement and political benefit.

6:10 Sorry to hear of your story and agree with you. Only you didn't have to include the Male PMS reference. Sounds sexist. Gordo"s deficiencies do not necessarily stem from being male. He could simply be an asshole.

Pussy Hat said...

Happy Women's Day ! Bet Gordo is celebrating Trump style !!

@9:07

I apologize if I came across as sexist. I had no such intention. I suppose I could have come up with a better characterization of his loose canon behavior.

I also am not trying to point out his deficiencies, as I too am not perfect or purport to be. I am critical of his mindset, however, which has nothing to do with being male or female.

I appreciate your perspective.

Anonymous said...

Many of Goredo's girl friends would characterize him as a loose cannon as well.

How many outdoor basic refrigerated ice rink & geothermal spring fed exterior pool could Tofino have now with all the money raised for all the multiplex study and salaries?

No wonder the muni can't even afford a soccer park or a baseball field it's all about splatball and vocal therapy!

, so sad, and the circle of bending out nails starts again with a brand new Facebook society page, freetrips anyone?

Let's go walk the goat and let the dog roaming the crazy highway , were going to Disneyland baby, I'll get you a new puppy later.

Long live rusted biking I guess
