The Tofino school gym is run by the Wickaninnish Community School Society between 2:30 and 8:00 pm for four days a week.The focus is on youth and family use.
Any user groups wanting to use the gym after 8:00pm or on weekends should contact the school principal and School District 70.

A schedule designed to keep working people and single adults out. Read your mandate. "All" means "all". Mean spirited propaganda. That is all this is.
Maybe there is on opening here???? We should see how this plays out.
And good luck with that... I know it sounds cynical, but I really do wish those people who want to have some healthy activity, in a tax payer funded facility, that is by policy deemed a "community" school, are able to do so simply. My guess is that it won't be so simple. Go on, someone give it a try and let us know how it goes... I tried 5 years ago and gave up.
Most former gym users I have spoken with this week have given up.
This is so sad... I read the letter from Blue Magic in the paper, and really, they are not allowed to use the gym? As adults, are we not supposed to be modeling good, healthy behaviour? Does the school district not want us to model such behaviour? There are copious studies that the school district has that points to good parent modeling, and a similar amount of studies on the effects of bullying. There, wick school does not support good parenting, and is a bully. We pay for this.
