What is wrong here ??

Council will spend millions to make Campbell St look like the entrance to Disneyland, put an expensive custom cedar roof on a washroom at the beach but continue to allow the firehall to rot. They won't even cover up the graffiti on the firehall. Are they so busy spending RMI money like drunken sailors that they no longer care about our fire department ? No shortage of action when it came to the Weeping Willow Woman or discussions about higher learning ! The speedbumps and NO Parking signs at Chestermans Beach went in incredibly fast !! Can you imagine what condition Harold Monk's house would be in if the District of Tofino were to take possession ? No doubt it would look like the firehall in no time !

They won't use any RMI money to benefit locals and our fire department because "RMI money has to be a benefit for tourists"(Westerly paper a couple wks. ago). It seems some people have more priority, and it ain't us locals.

how about the 4-way stops at 2nd/3rd & Campbell ?

to make the Tofino Gong Show complete all we need is the Weepert on the village green.

You do understand that RMI money CAN'T be used for just anything, right? The province OK's what are and aren't allowable projects that money can be used for, because it is matched funds collected FROM tourists when they pay hotel tax in Tofino. Council aren't "prioritizing tourists over residents", have a look at what that pot of cash is for and you'll see sewer and fire halls aren't on the list...

Are you saying that tourists don't use the sewer and water systems ? Get real !!

Changes need to be made as to what RMI money can be spent on. We wouldn't need half the water or sewer capacity without the tourists so why not allow RMI money to be spent on that too. Even a percentage of the amount would help greatly. Say 50% of the RMI money could be spent on basic infrastructure would make it much easier on the average taxpayer. The other half could be spent on the current RMI projects.

Did they forgot a water fountain from south chest or they got short on budget wi/ fancy roof?
Whatever, the cox bay facility is already in derelict mode with loose tap, and muni staff can't even figure how to turn the drinking apparatus on with their 100k salary!
Wear a hazmat suit if needed to use facility! At least schools are re opening for summer just to laugh at population,
