Restructuring Revisited

Sally Mole was fired due to restructuring but it seems there's been no reduction in staff levels......Staff that were previously employed at Parks and Rec have been promoted to positions with new names and new staff are being hired.So was it "restructuring" or "constructive dismissal " ??

The District of Tofino is seeking to fill the Recreation Assistant position within the Community Sustainability Department.
This seasonal full-time position starts in March and ends in December of each year, is based on a 37.5 hour work week, and is subject to the term of the collective agreement of the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 118. The salary for this position is $18.09 per hour.

From a taxpayer's standpoint this is good news in that it sends a clear message to non-union District employees : "Don't ask for a raise or stay too long in your position or you will be terminated without cause or notice"
Council should refrain from whining about staff turnover as they are responsible.

And from another tax payers point of view, things have just fallen through the cracks, so many things, big and small, not getting done, while we focus on the all mighty RMI to service the tourists. Meanwhile, the former awesome service from parks and rec has gone from great to mediocre (no reflection on Laura; to be expected with such severe staffing cuts). And we were told there would be no change in level of service, well think again.. I've ertainly noticed it. Again, we sacrifice our local needs to serve the tourists...
