I don't understand how Tofino managed to survive for all those years before we had Brent Baker to organize our community into "the way it ought to be". (Or is it, the way he thinks it ought to be?) He's amazing!! Really! Just ask him. He's deciding how to deal with campers. He's deciding how to deal with dogs. He's deciding how we'll destroy our public parks and trails. He's appearing in front of council and telling them how things will be done. And council is meekly sitting on their hands and saying nothing. As usual. The tail wags the dog.
To 8:57 You missed the whole point of 8:09's message. The idea put forward, is that the dog should be wagging the tail. That is a very good idea regarding staff mismanagement of council business.
For instance. Let's not give another $150,000 in play money to Director of foofaa to play architect with. Complete waste of money. Really an act of irresponsibility. Council wake up!!!!!
Standard problem with this council and staff is that they think there's an endless supply of taxpayer money to spend. There isn't. If they don't smarten up people may just start deferring them. Yes eventually the district will get their money but in the meantime they won't have it to spend. If everyone deferred their taxes, the district might have to stop spending for a while and perhaps lay off people who wish to spend irresponsibly.
