I'm sure the Shore and South Chestermans will follow suit

Does anyone know how many permanent residents the Shore and South Chesterman has? I believe that for over 90% this is a secondary residence or revenue home.

BTW I thought the zoning at the EcoLodge allowed rentals to students & educational groups ONLY? Aren't the mayor & her husband owners? Please correct me if I am wrong.

I believe the "Eco Lodge" is owned by a non profit society . I will look into it.

Tofino Botanical Gardens Foundation is home to the Tofino Botanical Gardens. We are a non-profit organization and a registered Canadian charity, located on a 12-acre waterfront site in the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Our mission is to inspire conservation of the world’s temperate, coastal rainforests.

We endeavour to explore the relationship between culture and nature by pursing interests across disciplinary lines. We are dedicated to the creation of a living classroom where future generations will learn about the natural and cultural history of Clayoquot Sound and the remaining coastal temperate rainforests of the world.

Freedom of speech seldom works for elite or powerbrokers. Thus they create terms like hate speech and threatening language to classify any comments they find hit too close to home. This is a classic situation of rules for some and not for others. "Some pigs are more equal than others" George Orwell in our town its "complaint based bylaw enforcement" otherwise known as discrimination in the rest of the world.

Sorry I had to edit part of your comment.I have inquired with DOT officials to see if there has been a text amendment or other alterations to the P1A zoning that would allow such uses.I will have a full report once I have received this information from the District.
Yes,I have to tread carefully in this matter.
