If you live offshore you can get a free permit to park as long as you want right by the wharf or post office(regardless of race,creed,colour,religon or sexual orientation).It you are a citizen of Tofino you will be punished for parking in your own town. Kudos to whoever created this poster.

Parking in Tofino

Many locals have been discussing parking lately.There are fewer and fewer places to park and more and more tickets being issued. With pay parking starting the problem will get even worse.I invite your comments.

Air BNB ad in Toronto

It's not just Tofino that is impacted by Airbnb or other vacation rental sites.I saw this ad at a Toronto bus stop a couple of days ago. I heard from friends there that it is a growing problem  with rental rooms or whole apartments being used for vacation rentals. It would take an army of bylaw officers to deal with the situation in Toronto.
