Good to see the vast array of candidates, obviously community spirt flourishes. Stepping up to serve and sacrifice at times like this shows us all what true Canadians are made of.
Great to see Al Anderson back for another term. His elegant rhetoric and inspirational leadership speak for themselves, our "rock" in all the chaos.
I'm looking forward to hearing all the spirited debate to come during the coming campaign, there's lots out there to be decided.
So get informed, get yourself registered, and get out there on election day and do your part. Your vote matters!!
Who is that Eric guy?
If Eric could step back and just let Tom take over from Dan, as planned, since Tom's going to win anyway, then all the seats can be filled by acclamation and the taxpayers can avoid the expense of an election.
Perhaps, in future years, this could be repeated and councils and mayors can just appoint their own replacements, should they choose to no longer serve. With guidance from staff, and the availability of consultants advice for more complex issues, input from misinformed citizens is hardly required, elections are a needless expense, a relic of a bygone era. In the New World Order, governments, like the one in Ottawa, will no longer be elected, they will be appointed and installed.
Maybe time to go down to four councilors.
Eric Galarneau
A campaign website was not available as of publication. More information will be added as it becomes available.
That's a great idea too. That's accomplished by way of a question on the ballot on election day. It can be done every ten years. Last time the voters chose to retain all six. That was about ten years ago? Must soon be time for another kick at the can? I don't know how it gets put on the ballot......
Agree. Less of them would only be a good thing.
ukee only has four seats. We do not need six and this seems to hang us up frequently. .
Election in Russia today. Outcome is pretty much already decided. Only one party permitted on the ballot. No real reason to vote, except to demonstrate obedience and loyalty to the state. same same-just different. They've got state supplied housing too!
Who the hell is Eric? Why is he running when no one knows him?
Nobody knows you . Why are you commenting ?
I don't know Eric, but he gets my vote. I've seen enough from Tom Stere, I don't agree with most of what I hear from him, he's a government employee who doesn't have a grasp of the problems faced by common working people and small enterpreneurs by his extreme left leaning policies. With Tom in control, we're looking at another four years of top heavy bureaucracy and uncontrolled spending. You can be sure that the office staff at DOT are all backing Tom.
Having said that however, you can expect Tom to win, this is Tofino after all, and he's so...nice.
The polls all have Eric running away with it at this point in the race. Everyone I've talked to say that it's hands down for Eric, widespread support across all sectors.
Vote Eric Galarneau for accountability and responsible leadership. End the corruption. A brighter future for Tofino. You deserve better, vote for change.
One would think perhaps Westerly News a bought-out corrupt rag, same as CBC. We see wonderful stories about the accomplishments of affordable housing, Mayor Dan, and the status quo, but two weeks into the campaign and we still see nothing about Mr. Galarneau.
What is being kept hidden?
Are there thoughts and deed afoot, so sinister as to be forbidden from exposeure to the light of truth? Where be the candidate?
Dan isn't running again, and the campaign period for tofino began Sept 19th. So it's been 3 days. Also with nothing about Tom who is the other candidate.
I like Tom Stere, he's a good man. But I don't think he's the right guy to lead Tofino through a trade war. We need a different kind of mayor to stand up to Trump. I don't think Tom measures up. Eric Galarneu will mop the floor with Trump.
