Not even mentioned. Like the "black sheep" family member that "we don't like to talk about". Seems like the longer she's there and the better she gets to be known, the less responsibility and potential for public controversy she's allowed to be exposed to.
Is it possible that former allegations of improper dealings are not completely put to bed, and the powers that be are choosing to not be strongly attached to a potential future corruption investigation?
Or perhaps someone has realized that a minor degree in marine biology isn't really the qualification required to run a government. Cute, but keep her away from the bank accounts.
Question. Has she done anything yet to promote the interests of the voters of our riding, the riding that she was elected to represent? I haven't seen any news stories of Osborne speaking out about issues in Tofino, or Port Alberni, or Qualicm, or about highway 4, or about ACRD bus issues, or green crabs, or salmon habitat, or about anything else that she should be doing. Does she spend all of her time feathering her own nest? Who's looking out for the local people? Seems like she migrated to Victoria and then disappeared into the cosmos. We can only wish.
Osborne has been given the sacrificial posting of energy because this next spring Time of use billing is going to be rolled out. All the greenie leaning NDPers buying electric cars are going to have to start paying more for their charging. Here's hoping Osborne pushes for and gets the underwater power lines to the Island upgraded after having started to melt from too much electric car charging and increased population. She is most definitely in a high political risk highly charged portfolio.
I doubt Osbourne is at any political risk. I agree with much of your analyses but the fact is in this riding most voters would vote for the NDP candidate regardless. NDP could run a monkey in a suit and win here. Wait.... didn't they do that already.

Didn't she send out a message about the earthquake...like it had happened.
ReplyDeleteWow!, that's what I call responsible government.
Vaughn Palmer calls her old ministry "an organizational mess." Maybe she's just not very good at getting things done.

ReplyDeleteI’m sure all the NDPers wanted the Site C and Coastal
ReplyDeleteGaslink portfolios.
She was one of a handful of MLAs who didn't support Eby
