They are so busy doing the job they don'y have any time for bylaw enforcement. Everyone knows you can do whatever you want. Only honest people are following the rules
Let me get this right. So if you have a complaint......Talk to the offender first, before calling bylaw. Then if Bylaw responds, they won't give out your name to protect you, they want you to do that first. Then, they won't/can't enforce anything. You have to take your neighbour to court. Sounds like the only thing bylaw defends is it's pay checques.
I was amazed to learn that we have had a "crackdown" on unleashed dogs. Could some one tell me where and when this happened? How many owners were fined? How many warning tickets were issued? How many unleashed dog owners were even stopped and spoken to? ....or was it all done by zoom?
For years, decades even, council has ignored repeated calls for the establishment of an off leash dog park. Has any progress ever been made on this? Why not? Until this is done, the problem of unleashed dogs, anywhere, will remain unsolveable. You don't see any problem anywhere in town with skateboarders hangin out doing their thing, because someone had sense enough to supply them with a facility they could enjoy their lifestyle choice in. The same could be done for these "problem" dog owners.
We don't need more bylaw, we need a mayor and council with some backbone and some political will to pass a motion (even if it's only a statement of intent to build a dog park) and get this project underway. It's been delayed, avoided, and put off too long. Details? I do not know. Build it and they will come.
Until then, keep shovelling the tax money to bylaw. Solving the unsolveable at $50 per hr on weekends.
Someone tell me if this contribution by3:33 is satire or not. " the same could be done for these problem dog owners". Of course they(dog owners) can all go to the skate parks as well. Even without their dogs.
Further skateboarders don't bite or cut you down at the knees or shit everywhere. Well most of them don't.
Typical, this dog owner wants the taxpayer to fund a dog park but they will still turn em loose at the beach or wherever it suits. And you should know the skate park was built with a lot of donations of material and work...dog owners get busy.
8:08, Huh? Read the post: --these "problem" dog owners-- those little comma things around "problem". Those indicate satire. (they're called air-somethings).
The post had nothing to do with skateboarders, I was merely referring to how supplying a facility has allowed Tofino to avoid any conflict with a segment of our community that does indeed see such conflict in other communities.
I said NOTHING about taxpayer funding. I said " I do not know".
I'm not a dog owner. You're wrong.
You fail to read the question, jump to conclusions, and make assumptions based on nothing. Are you always like this? You must be very difficult to live around on a daily basis. I feel for your husband.
"You feel for my husband".....No you don't. He feels for himself just fine so you keep your hands to yourself. You dog owners are the best entertainment. I thought they built the skate park so kids could skateboard. I didn't realize it was an UN peace keeping effort. Thanks for educating me
Finance Dept ensures citizens remain in poverty. taxes not their problem. "Ya can't stop progress"
Planing Dept never approves anything...pour planing I guess. No water available... see Public works below. That moldy camper is good enough for you.
Sustainability Commissioner oversees destruction of community. Soon to retire to Qualicum where it is more affordable, orderly and civilized.
Bylaw Enforcement tells you.... you are on your own, it has nothing to do with them, fight it out with your neighbours you chicken shit complainers.
Public works recommends individual water users get a rain barrel to solve water shortages. Sorry can't do anything there. see planing above.
Affordable housing units deemed unaffordable by 80% of citizens. See planing and finance above Existing housing being turned into tourist accom, can't stop that. it's those darn bylaws we are saddled with. See bylaw enforcement above, Fight it out with your neighbours etc.
Is there a pattern here.
What are you complaining about you ungrateful dweebs. Don't you know this is a world class tourist destination! This place is incredible. Just give us our pay checques.
"why is affordable housing unaffordable" Answer..because it doesn't matter what it costs. It is all just a virtue signaling exercise. The realities are irrelevant. And besides, if those in authority continue to tell you it is affordable, maybe you will start to believe them. They believe it. Just ask them. Except you still can't afford it. It's not dead, it's just resting. Pining for the southern fjords.

9:46, Thank you. Now, I finally understand.
ReplyDeleteIf they say it's affordable, that means it's affordable. Even if it isn't.
Same as Kennedy hill.
It's finished. That means it's finished. Finally. Almost. Soon. Even when I'm sitting in the lineup.
Alternate facts. I just need to adjust the way I interpret what I think I'm being told.
I guess.
