Un-attended watering of gardens and lawns is NOT
permitted. Please be sure to use available water with care, by ensuring
that no water is wasted and by conserving and re-using water where
possible. The District of Tofino would like to thank
the residents and businesses for your support with these water
conservation measures. These regulations will be strictly enforced and
infractions will be prosecuted.
I'll need to comment on this later...Right now, I'm busy going out to wash my truck.
ReplyDeleteAt least when we gave millions of dollars worth of water to the resorts somebody used it. This has just been pissing water away for over a year.
ReplyDeleteIt has been leaking for many years now !
ReplyDeleteYes, very poor optics while water restrictions are imposed. It should be a simple fix.Nothing a few consultants couldn't figure out with the help of an engineer.
ReplyDeleteShowers at the beach running all day long, all weekend long.
ReplyDeleteThe CAO spoke to this problem at the 30-May Committee of the Whole meeting. He said the leak had been looked at and was "ounces a day." (I would guess it's in the litres-per-day range, but still insignificant.) Staff is looking for a contractor to apply a sealant from the outside (cost, about #10k). If that doesn't work, the next step would be a liner applied from the inside (cost, substantially higher).
ReplyDeleteIn related news, the tender for the new Barr Mountain reservoir has been issued. Construction expected next fall-winter.
