Please tell me this is an early April Fool's joke ! Please !!
ReplyDeleteIt's no joke. It's hard to believe that Council would support such a controversial issue in an election year !!
ReplyDeletefull speed ahead!
ReplyDeletedamn the public.
damn unknown costs.
the public must be shown this council is really stubborn and really stupid.
remember the parking meters?
guess not
get rid of these bums
ReplyDeletebravo to these folks for standup for civil disobedience
ReplyDeleteas an exercise in personal taste in aesthetics, council members who mistakenly believe that they were elected to exercise same on behalf of all of us should maybe understand that if, right now, the electorate were to choose a fashion statement suitable for those council members it would be tar and feathers.
ReplyDeleteAnd our taxes keep going up and the sewage is still dumping in the ocean and we can't afford a by-law officer to enforce dog rules.
ReplyDeleteWe'll spend thousands so we don't have to think about the millions we need.
What else would you expect from the council that fired Sally Mole at a great expense to the taxpayer ? Good thing it is an election year . They'll get the green vote and that's about it.
ReplyDeletethe cedar woman represents conflict, weather your for or against; the town was torn in 2, people lost jobs and had to move. I expressed this point of view and I was not in favour with any public money in any shape or form going towards this venture. no tax money, no RMI, DCCs, or any money that was available to Council to go towards this. I feel that the people who are in favour and approached council are selling themselves short, there are 10,000 people who are willing to give to this cause. not only could the group buy it they could build a park for it pay for the install and set up a maintenance fund for it as well with out using one cent of public (tax) monies. coming to council for a hand out is a short cut, I remember Ike tree and the money raised for that (70K+) I voted against any use of public money for this. those of you who are in favour for the cedar woman to come back here, please think bigger than tofino and go else where to achieve your financial goals for this project. two fold for my response, 1...to let your bloggers know I was against public money being spent and 2... to ask the people who are spear heading this to go raise your money else where not from council how about from the supporters who were here 20 years ago and since, if they all gave 10$ you would have 100K no problem. ReplyDeleteQ---What does the Weeping Cedar Woman and The Kennedy River Bridge have in common?
ReplyDeleteA---Both are made of wood.
What goes around, comes around.
nobody gets it.
ReplyDeleteour council is just about civil disobedience.
we honor as much as we can pertaining to doing what goes against the established rules.
for instance the sewer: screw everybody that thinks this is wrong, including the government.
right now we're looking at commissioning a 10 foot high sculpture of Sandy the mascot made out of recycled materials. this will stand right next to the weeping cedar woman.
that's why we're elected: to do the most annoying things that go against the grain of acceptable standards of everything.
you people just dont understand civil disobedience.
we are it. get it?
ReplyDeleteGarth Thank You,
We were in the Council Chambers on February 11th.
The performance of our Mayor & Council was Mind Blowing... and it felt like we were caught in a Dream. (a "South Park" episode gone Bad.)
Garth we heard You, Word by Word...
Last night We listened again to the Audio Recording we made during the Feb.11 meeting with all the Good Comments, Concerns and Questions that You brought forward....but Unfortunately, you only have One Voice.
Garth, Tofino Needs more People like YOU !
