Just a comment, why is it a resposibilty to pay for these children to and fro from school when the children from other islands do not get taxied over but have to find their own way?
the report says the expense per kid is above $10000 annually. How many kids would be going to school if it was up to the individual to absorb such a cost?

When I was young, I had to get myself to school. There was no bus. There was no rides.
Did the Palm kids on Strawberry Island get free water taxi service? Strawberry Island is within the district. Somehow I don't think they did...
$12,000 per student is insane!
it is important to note that the Tofino water taxi mentioned in the article is not Tofino Water Taxi(the local company of he same name).
