The remaining District of Tofino staff are on edge as another in-camera special meeting was announced today !!! Let's hope they are not firing more competent staff !!
Notice is hereby given that a Special
Meeting of the District of Tofino Council shall be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 in Council
Chambers at 10:00AM for the purpose
of discussing the 2013 budget. Pursuant to Section 90(1)(c)(c)
of the Community Charter, a portion of this meeting shall be closed to the
Public, for purposes of discussions respecting labour relations.
This is insane ! They should hold a town hall meeting to face the music !!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the council is preparing their resignation letters. They might as well because they will all be fired next election anyway. Why prolong Tofino's agony ?
ReplyDeleteI really don't know what to make of this situation. It's high time that council scraps the " hourglass " concept and starts talking to staff . We didn't have problems like this until all information was provided by the CAO.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else think that the Goverment Audit has anything to do with all the resignations & firing? I do.
ReplyDeleteThe municipal auditor doesn't begin her work until January 2013.
ReplyDeleteThis council is morally corrupt
ReplyDeleteFear mongering ? You are helping to spread fear about staff and labour, how do you know it's not about Michelle's or Braden's replacement? Or the new Forman. Your quick to spread fear and assume the worst. Run for mayor Ralph please.
ReplyDeleteIt's only fear mongering if there's nothing to fear.
ReplyDeleteand your fear is?
ReplyDeletemy fear is a dead town, no development, no water, no sewer, no visitors and no money!
ReplyDeleteMy fear is the irrational management of District staff. To address another comment, Sally wasn't on the District list of employees making more than $75,000 a year.
ReplyDeleteRalph for mayor!
ReplyDeleteThe CAO position is open until December 31st 2012. So this meeting is not about that.....
ReplyDeleteSally for CAO!! She has 20+ years of municipal experience, she has huge respect in the community and municipal world, She is VERY highly respected by staff, she is dedicated, she's a team leader and she knows what the people of Tofino want.
ReplyDeleteto december 2012 6:17
ReplyDeletei would agree with you its about time tofino had someone who made decisions that were good for tofino and not about there own well being and free houseing go sally go
Maybe in the secret meeting council is going to resign.
