The NDP (only seven of them, but that's enough) has agreed to prop up the Carney government by supporting the upcoming budget, after the government has agreed to increase election spending for the current NDP party, who otherwise would have lost that funding due to their abysmal performance in the last election. Yes, Gord Johns is going to vote to support Carney's budget, so his party can obtain more funding in the next election.
There are different types of people. Some (by far, most) go to work, or school, or volunter in their community, or operate businesses, or raise children, or write a book, or teach surfing, or are just kids, or are simply retired, but contribute to their society in some way.
Certain other people prefer to just get high all day, despite the negative consequences. They become parasites. They lose their grip on reality. Their addictions grow into major social problems. It only gets worse, never better.
People like Gord Johns, who enable and support this misguided acceptance of allowing sick people to destroy themselves, are not helping.
C'mon. Take a look at the downtown "homeless" encampments and the latest overdose statistics. Are they giving out any "awards" for that?
Good for Gord. The drug crisis and homelessness are quickly becoming one of the biggest economic drivers in Canada. The majority of the jobs are high (no pun intended) paying, and the building contracts appear to be very lucrative. At a time when many other industries are struggling, we need strong leadership to keep this sector growing.
"unconscious people in the downtown area". hmmmmmm, wonder who that could be? https://cheknews.ca/volunteer-firefighters-in-tofino-scale-back-medical-callouts-to-curb-burnout-1287295/
The NDP is once again pretending to “keep all options open” on Mark Carney’s budget, including the option to abstain, which is just code for quietly keeping the Liberals in power while pretending to oppose them.
Interim leader Don Davies says they’ll “read the budget carefully” and “analyze it through the lens of working people,” but that’s the same line we’ve heard every time they’ve cut a backroom deal with the Liberals. They’re buying time to find a way to justify another sellout to their base.
.......the NDP and Greens? They’re hedging, pretending to “study” the budget or “negotiate,” when any serious look at the numbers shows it’s fiscal malpractice.
The budget contains nothing that aligns with the NDP visions or wants, but like good sheep they all voted with the Liberals on the first confidence vote. Don’t leaders fight for their beliefs and those that voted for them? One can’t help but wonder how many new accounts were opened up on The Isle of Man?

Gord is not going to jeopardize his spot it line at the HOC buffet. All you can eat trumps party existence.

Question: if an immigrant or an FN owned the Ostrich farm where the federal government had all the birds shot, would Gord have remained silent?
