Corruption, graft, abuse and mismanagement of our tax dollars is widespread and rampant across all levels of government. Too many people are filling their pockets unjustly.Public service employment, in Canada, has become a banana republic look-alike. Seems like every day we hear another new tale of the snouts in the trough fattening themselves up, soon followed by a slew of accusations, excuses, explanations and investigations about who stole or cheated what or how much from whom, and how, this time. And then the uproar dies down, and it's all delayed, and we don't hear any more about it. Eventually, usually a year or two later, if ever, something gets decided (after a fortune of the taxpayers money has been spent on investigations and hearings), and some guy gets to be the sacrificial goat, and he's scolded and suspended from his position. Meanwhile, he has already moved on to a new position in another agency. And he gets to keep the money.
What's the chances of public sector corruption being listed in it's own special section of the criminal code, with mandatory minimum sentences and seizure of assets among the consequences? If you work for, or with, the government or any government agency, and you get caught cheating, you lose, everything. It just isn't worth the risk.
No, that's never going to happen. No politician would ever sponsor such legislation. Because they're all cheating. If they're not cheating, they're setting it up so their "friend" can cheat. Always. There will never be genuine accountability. Never. Welcome to the third world.
Josie deserves our undivided support . Her work to speed up the Kennedy Hill construction was outstanding . She worked tirelessly to expedite the opening of Highway 4 after the climate crisis caused a fire by Cameron Lake . Her support for the carbon tax alone should assure her re-election.
Josie is an unfortunate example of wasted talent. She could do much better. With her degree in marine biology she should be a part of the federal government, sharing her wisdom with our entire nation. Trudeau could appoint her minister of finance.

ReplyDeleteTo 4:03 I thought it was determined Homo Sapiens were responsible for the Cameron Lake fire.
ReplyDeleteOh I get it. This is just more parody. Excuse me.
Who will be the next “politician “ to come out of the Tofino School of Fine Leadership?
