this situation is a clear example of a moral failing in our elected officials......then denying that it is. most of the taxpayers here, except those who haven't been blinded by sweet words and outright lies, know full the details of this episode and all of the pseudo enviro crap leading up to it. its about the money.
if an elected official uses their office for personal enrichment at the expense of the tax payer I think this is immoral. denying it is is exactly what the dishonest politician comes up with. or fake news
Perhaps the lower sale price, and the consulting fees paid to George after the sale, were a way to lower his capital gains tax obligations as a US citizen. Come to think of it, it would lower his capital gains tax in Canada as well.
7:25 AM Maybe he claimed primary residence for part of the property, which means much less capital gains. And maybe he had to lower the price since it wasn't selling. Those former Tides Canada folks are a sharp bunch, and could see the place had a limited market. But still so many questions for the up and coming politician.
Really, what significant problems were solved or improved under her tenure.
Everything got worse... taxes, housing availability, infrastructure security. We did get a lot of trinketry. Fancy dog fountains on the street. Lots of Pronouns. What? Double the staff half the output? A trail to the park that the roots can grow under, requiring resurfacing in about five years?

Not sure if many Tofino voters care about all this, but could disqualify her from the top job.
ReplyDelete7:34 that is all very good but taxation sensitive voters would not like her to try and return to local civic politics.
