From Tofinobotanicalgardens.com The Tofino Botanical Gardens has entered a new phase of life. The 10-acre site has transferred ownership to MakeWay's IPCA Innovation Program. MakeWay is a national charitable organization whose mandate is “nature and communities thriving together.” Much of the vision for the Tofino Botanical Gardens, established in 1997 by previous owner George Patterson, will be maintained. Programming, however, will shift to a focus on Indigenous-led conservation.
The gardens are now open daily from 9am to 5pm. Suggested donation of $20 per person.

I'm incredibly honoured to be appointed BC's first-ever Minister of Land, Water, and Resource Stewardship. This new ministry - the result of over a year of planning- is a result of our government's commitment and responsibility to advance meaningful reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, grow the economy and ensure a sustainable environment. As many have already pointed out - no small task. Which is one reason why I am reminded of just how grateful I am of the strong foundation of values and principles I have gained in my professional life so far. The very structure of this ministry, from the ocean through watersheds and onto the lands of what we call British Columbia reflects one of the most sacred principles of the Nuu-chah-nulth people (on whose territory I live): hishukish tsawalk, everything is one, everything is connected. This is good. I so look forward to the hard and rewarding work ahead.
WHAT A COINCIDENCE programming will shift to a focus on indigenous led conservation for the botanical gardens.
Values and principles? Are we supposed to believe this garbage? Yes. It's political propaganda founded in the principles of corruption and self interest. All designed to restrict and control the poor peons who live here. What in the hell is this sustainable environment? Sure, one where absolutely nothing happens. All for the self-aggrandizement of a young woman who doesn't know any better.
It appears I got it all wrong in my life. So much for an honest days work for an honest days pay. If one wants to make the big bucks, one just has to wallow around in bullshit memes that go absolutely nowhere. I think about all the people that are losing their livelihoods in this "pandemic"(voice of Mike Meyers' Dr. Evil), yet in the midst of it all, I just heard the BC guv is going to give all its ministers a 10% pay raise. You can't make this shit up. "Grow the economy!" btw, those are Trudeau's words. Nothing will be grown except for her bank balance.
Gord Johns for Courtenay-Alberni February 24 at 6:39 PM · Thanks to my colleague Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner for this thoughtful op-ed on the World Economic Forum conspiracy theory. She says: "Every day, as a legislator, I am subjected to thousands of data points; people seeking to influence me and the decisions I make. Those can range from people signing a petition asking me to do something, or a corporate lobbyist sending my office information, a constituent who requests a meeting, social media, a debate in the House, and more. My attendance at a meeting of any type is a speck of sand in a beach of information and demands that I and every other MP is subjected to on a daily basis.” The theory about a conspiracy of leftist legislators around the world working towards a “reset” at World Economic Forum gatherings is not credible. Sadly, it is has been aggressively propagated on social media and more sadly, accepted as reality by many otherwise smart people.
This demotion may stem from the whole Ecolodge stink. Having a minister of municipal affairs who broke municipal zoning bylaws as mayor may not have resonated in a good way with the NDP leadership in Victoria.
The new motto of the tribal model directly from Jerusalem.
Convenient Hebraic ownership, available trough many bogus foundations funded by grant from wi$e Toronto university grads, Tikkun olam is used to refer to Jewish obligations to engage in social action in the Reform of humanity under Israel as the ultimate model society.
Not sure when Eli and Joe will open a garden for the Palestinian to enjoy their tribal park land near the Gaza Strip.
You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Like a blood stained hand reaching out of the crypt. A real life horror show. Coming to a theatre near you. Guided by "sacred principles".

This is a very dangerous situation. The confluence of willful incompetence and subterfuge.
ReplyDeleteIt is clear the NDP has become the enemy of the people. Message sent from the Canada, on whose land I tentatively reside.

ReplyDeleteSorry 3:24 This is a reward. Our parks and forest lands are no longer ours. What is Canada anymore? When will this us and them division end.
