16 more new cases on the island in the past two days..... this is gonna get worse and worse...and the resorts are still welcoming visitors.
I guess they need more money, after just having the biggest year in the past 25. Greed is going to kill people.

Mike Dauphinee Author: Here's the situation, as I see it. The majority of new cases and the majority of transmissions have been seen in the 20-39 age groups. That's the same age group, mostly, as the surfing crowd. It's winter, the surf's "up", and they want to play....in Tofino....on the beaches. There's probably very little, if any, transmission of the virus in the water, or even on the beach. The problem arises when the crowd is leaving or entering the beach, congregating in the parking lots, and then meeting and socializing later in the accomodation providers, bars, restaurants, and retail establishments. So, what do you do? Close the beaches? Close the businesses? Try to enforce stringent social distancing rules? Most people that I've seen, locals and visitors, are sane sensible adults and behave properly, but as always, there are a few who simply refuse to conform to rules that they'd rather not abide by. How do you make irresponsible idiots behave like responsible adults? How do we protect the vulnerable members of our community, and not trample the rights of others, who are most likely not doing any harm whatsoever? Me... I have absolutely no idea. I can see the problem, but I don't know the solution.
