I thought they said there would be zero tax increase this year. Now they are saying massive cuts. What the hell is real. How does this compute. The only way to reconcile those two positions is if the massive cuts where to projected increases, not existing programmes. A painless way to cut. Cut an inflated number. what you could have spent.
Oh ya and no new hiring except of course for the person who just got hired....Can anyone figure this out
Yep, no new hiring. Except the new finance person. And the two guys to replace the head of public works, who quit. And how many people will bylaw consist of this year? 5? 6? 7? ($448,000 budget)
Now lets talk about the cuts: Community Chldren's Center (Daycare): Provincial health shut it down. D.O.T. takes the credit for "staff reductions". People normally pay fees there, which are now lost. Savings to the taxpayers nil. Recreation Programs: Again Provincial Health regulations shuts the doors. D.O.T. grabs the glory for their "sacrifice". Again, user fees, which normally pay for the programs, are gone. Again, savings to the taxpayers are nil.
Now let's talk about the 10 top paying positions on D.O.T.staff. (Those $100K guys). No cuts there. No savings to the taxpayers.
The entire press release is a made-up piece of deceit, deflection, and mis-information.
Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of people.
Sounds familiar on all levels of government. Say goodbye to democracy!!
Hahaha !
ReplyDeletebut they still hired someone for finance.
