If council has figured out that there isn't much use in having the summer shuttle, why don't they tell the ACRD to cancel the idea of a bus out here? Oh I forgot the Mayors both think this area is flush with money. Meanwhile businesses are closing. In the annals of the west coast, the bus tax will go down as one of the dumbest ideas they could possibly have come up with. Tell the ACRD to cancel the proposed bus before it starts.
The district has put out one email to the residents of Tofino since Feb 19th regarding COVID. ONE EMAIL! Communication is the number one priority during an emergency. The reason why its number one is to gain trust. When you lose trust, you lose the battle. Just look to the South for evidence. Not everyone can listen to the radio at set times. Please improve your communication DOT!
First they need the terms of reference . Then a few weeks or months of dialogue to discuss what is the narrative . Then it has to be determined by consultants and staff what is the best way to communicate the narrative in a politically correct way that is equitable and protects the vulnerable. While this is going on Tofino has pretty much re-opened.
