The West coast Nest program wants $60,000 from District taxation. Give us a break. Use the money for the sewer and or lower our taxes. The whole idea is a want, not a Need for Tofino taxpayers. We have to start spending only on NEEDS and cut the fat. This Nest program is total FAT and the people running it should get real jobs.
As for the Committee for Economic Development, take their advice and get rid of it. Save some staff time and money. I've heard from members saying the meetings were a waste of time. The meetings were designed to go nowhere. Certainly they were unapproachable as if you had any ideas of benefit to the community they were inevitably 'round filed'.
Looks like NEST wants RMI funding of $60,000 for 2019, 2020, 2021. Someone should explain to these people how calendars work. 2019 is over, sorry, you missed it. 2020 is happening now, plans are already made. You should have applied on time. 2021 is part of a three year plan that's already planned...... you need to get yourself better organized. Perhaps, when you get back to earth from whatever planet you're operating from, you could get a timely application for funding submitted for the 2022-2025 RDS budget.
