Don't get me wrong, what was done to Canadian citizens of Japanese ancestry during the 1940's was a terrible wrong, and one should hope that such an injustice is never repeated. But.. Shouldn't this apology be delayed until some weekend when the Prime Minister is in town, so he could be a part of it? He's great at apologies. I've never seen a sorrier man in my life. He's deeply, sincerely sorry. I know he is, I've heard him say so. It's wonderful that Josie is taking charge of getting this apology done, she's pretty sorry too, but not nearly as sorry as Justin. Perhaps Gord Johns and Scott Fraser could attend as well, they're a pretty sorry pair too. That would make a really good photo-op of the sorry politicians of Tofino, all united in support of a common apology, for something that happened before any of them were born.
This is fine. Go ahead apologize. It was a bad idea even if they never adopted the bylaw. But really, I wish Josie solved a few more problems around Tofino right now. In a few years somebody may be apologizing for what did and did not happen during her time.
