No problem, let's forget the pipeline and transport all crude oil to the coast by rail. There will be some derailments with the result of some oil spilled, but what the heck, at least it won't all get to the coast.
I probably don't have a chance of getting one of those chushi public servant jobs, don't live in the right area for subsidized housing, have no kids for subsidized day care, so here hoping the NDP bring in a gaurenteed living wage. I would drop what I am doing in a heartbeat. There is no incentive to work hard in the public sector anymore; for what, to pay exorbitant taxes, be penalized for having a second home or a cabin, being taxed on weather etc. etc. It won' be long before our province and country ranks right up there with Greece.
Insiders are suggesting that Horgan is in talks to repurchase the Fast Cats. Apparently they will be used for affordable housing. The NDP train of thought is that they will pay for themselves simply by not having to hook up or process the sewage. Apparently, it is alright to dump raw sewage into our pristine coastal waters in BC.
Remember, Argentina was one of the most prosperous places in the world in the early and middle parts of the twentieth century. Now it is just another poor, debt ridden Latin American country. What happened? They should teach this stuff in school. Prosperity is not inevitable. It requires effort and the rule of law. The socalled arc of history can bend away if you are not paying attention. Corruption can kill the Canada goose, that so far has laid a century of golden eggs.
It's hard to fathom the amount of buffoons that make it into Canadian politics. After listening to them, it is not a wonder that Trump considers himself a genius.

ReplyDeleteCivil War? Will B.C. secede from Canada, declaring itself an independant nation?
ReplyDeleteOnly after acknowledging that BC is unceded land.
