  2. Danielle Landreville, the NDP candidate for Joliette, got in trouble for writing on Facebook that she found the niqab at citizenship ceremonies “troubling” as a feminist. She was, of course, voicing an opinion widely shared by the party’s Quebec caucus, which has struggled to square the NDP’s position on niqabs with public opinion in the province. The post, accidentally truthful to a fault, was quickly deleted.

  3. While an average disabled veteran's LIFETIME payout is $42,000 , Conservative MP John Duncan spent $60,000 in ONE YEAR flying his wife around the country in business class.
So much for fiscally responsibility. A lifetime of sacrifice by our brave men and women in uniform is worth less to Harper's Conservatives than the cost of flying spouses business class for ONE YEAR. Completely unacceptable. Just another example of the flawed priorities of the Conservatives.
Support our veterans. On October 19th, vote to defeat Stephen Harper

  4. This is what the Conservatives think you should vote for........ " Former science teacher and Conservative candidate Sabrina Zuniga says oil spills from pipelines are no problem because oil is a natural substance.
The Tory contender in the Toronto riding of Spadina-Fort York made the comments in a recent interview with CPAC.
“We have the technology … to keep the pipeline safe, to cut off if anything is going to spill,” she said. “Oil is a natural substance. So spilling into the environment, the land will absorb it because that’s what oil is. It’s just when there is too much at once, that’s when the difficulty comes in.”
It’s true: oil is a natural substance. So are cyanide and sulphuric acid."
