The new Dogwood poll found that NDP candidate Gord Johns (30 per cent) leads Conservative incumbent John Duncan (25 per cent) in Courtenay-Alberni with Liberal candidate Carrie Powell-Davidson (10 per cent) and Green candidate Glenn Sollitt (nine per cent) far back in third and fourth place.

  2. What happened with the remaining 24%?. Is that undecided? Looks like support for Mr. Johns is starting to implode. Wasn't he supposed to be hovering around 50% a few weeks ago. It is difficult to escape ones past. Wonder if it is catching up to Mr. Johns.

  6. I see some local Eco-Weenies have turned their backs on the Green Party and have joined the industrial unions in supporting the NDP . Odd to see protestors, loggers, mill workers, miners, oil sands workers and first nations all with NDP signs.

  7. I'm an NDP member but with Gord Johns running I have decided to vote conservative as he looks wayyyy better than Gord Johns.
From what I have read on this blog who could ever vote for him. He sounds just awful with no sense of ethics at all.

  11. If the Rhino party had a candidate in this riding and it stood a chance in hell of taking a seat away from Harper, then they would get my vote. I'm not voting for Gord. I'm voting for the party with the best chance to get that a**hole Harper off the hill.

  12. A vote for Gord willl be the equivelant of throwing $167k into the trash. He Can't manage his own life let alone a political riding.

  13. Congratulations to John Duncan . By selecting their candidate they have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Who can forget the No Gordos sign at Way West ? There for a reason.

  17. 10:59PM...... You must be a Conservative. Seems that you need someone to tell you how they intend to vote, so you can use their choice as a guide on how you yourself should vote. Nomind of your own, no ability to listen to the issues and make a sane, rational decision, all on your own. Yep, Conservative material for sure. "Enquiring Minds"???.... Nope, just another small minded Conservative, looking for someone to hate.
