Tofino needs more childcare spots, period. There are only 2 licensed care providers which take kids under the age of 3. Each of those providers can only have 3 kids in their care under the age of 3. The current wait list for under 3's is "possibly" next summer.
From Gordo's Beach House Trip Advidor:Do not waste your time staying here, unless you like animal hair everywhere, paying an extortionate amount for a run-down shed, the smell of cats and the rudest most ignorant live-in 'cleaner' we have ever met in our lives. She can't be good at her job as the place and our room were filthy. We have been travelling around the world for 10 months and this is by far the worst property we have visited.
On check-in our keys did not work properly and had to access the property through a side door that was open. The female cleaner who lives in the small 'hut' was an absolute witch and cursed us at every opportunity whilst unloading our luggage from the car.
We definitely were not welcome on 'her' territory and she could not stop barking orders and complaints towards other guests arriving too. A very unwelcome atmosphere if ever there was one! We definitely could not stay here one night let alone four nights, so we immediately left. And it was the best decision ever. We found a cool motel that was spotlessly clean, didn't have a squeaky bed, had clean linen, gave us a warm friendly welcome and had no pets whatsoever.
This is without doubt the worst property experience we have had travelling through 26 countries in the last 10 months. It's not even worth one-star.

ReplyDeleteThere was another daycare place years ago but Tofino council shut it down.I think it was a zoning issue.
