  1. When the is no reading on the AKHMAHKSIS column, does that mean no output? Also, I haven't followed the numbers like you have but are these comparable to historical numbers? Are the water restrictions having any real affect on the consumption?

  2. It is interesting to try and figure out how the district is going to make up the revenue shortfall with the lowering of the rates for everyone other than residential. I think the readers know the answer to that question.
The Wick Inn for one example if it uses the same amount of water this year as it did last year will have a reduction in their water usage bill of $10,829.05. That is not much incentive for them to conserve water this coming summer.
Other big users may have similar savings.

  4. if this is the way we are going to be treated by our own employees maybe its time theres a pushback against this type of give-away to resorts who have already ridden on our backs with exorbitantly low water meter meter readings in the last few years.

  5. Well there were a few citizens who made comments on the water rates but a lot more of the resorts present at the meetings ensuring that their desires were met.

Where were you when you were given the opportunity to speak? Were you working and could not go? Did you write a letter of complaint? Oh you didn't bother because you knew you were going to be ignored?

Some democracy here where council hires a consultant instead of thinking for themselves. I wonder if resorts consulted or whined or dined with him while he was in Tofino? Where did he stay?
Shouldn't that be on the public record?
