Restructuring Revisited

Sally Mole was fired due to restructuring but it seems there's been no reduction in staff levels......Staff that were previously employed at Parks and Rec have been promoted to positions with new names and new staff are being hired.So was it "restructuring" or "constructive dismissal " ??

The District of Tofino is seeking to fill the Recreation Assistant position within the Community Sustainability Department. This seasonal full-time position starts in March and ends in December of each year, is based on a 37.5 hour work week, and is subject to the term of the collective agreement of the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 118. The salary for this position is $18.09 per hour.

District Sawmill Questions

Many questions remain to be answered about the "District Sawmill ".....is it owned by the District or a District employee ? Does the taxpayer pay to maintain the District Sawmill ? Does Management use the District Sawmill for private projects ? Does the District's Worksafe and liability insurance cover the use of the mill on weekends for private projects ?? Who on staff gets wood cut at the District Sawmill ? This has been going on for a long time now....Why do we even have a District Sawmill ?

Many people have been asking about the hydro and telephone lines in these photos.....most say they are eyesores and why aren't they being put underground while everything is dug up ?? I confess that I had assumed that they would be going underground and will try to get some more information.......
