This sign is the first thing tourists see at the city limits. What does it say about the town ? That we are willing to spend 2 million at 4th and Campbell for beautification but we can overlook this eyesore ?? Someone from the District of Tofino drives past this at least twice a day !

That sign is typical. It is a graphic representation of what is wrong here.
This is why the Mayor doesn't want a portfolio system.Just imagine if councillors and the mayor had personal responsibility instead of hiding behind management.
Leaving everything to management just doesn't work.
I do believe that the work at Fourth and Campbell will include some much needed culvert work that will improve drainage for a large part of the neighborhood. This is necessary, long overdue and a much appreciated part of the project.
That is true but that is only a small portion of the project. I don't think it is necessary to spend a small fortune to take two feet off of the rise by Breakers.
Probably just over looked the "Hope you had a whale of a time" sign is looking rough again too. Perhaps an email to DOT and point it out. 30 min with some TSP javex and elbow grease should help
Maybe after they clean up the sign and are looking to waste some more $$ they can build some stairs up Lone Cone to make the hike easier?
