Wow! Those polls say that there's a 19% chance that Josie Osborne gets re-elected to form a government. Isn't that wonderful news!
There are so many things to say about this, where to begin?
Let's begin with the excuse we're going to hear after her loss. It was Trump's fault. No it wasn't, Trump had nothing to do with it, you lost because you did a horrible job, and the voters fired you, Josie.
I'm looking forward to seeing Josie's next career move.....this one hasn't really ended up where she had hoped. Betcha that somewhere up there in the goverment-corporate mega administration world there's a slot that's just perfect for her.....can't wait to see. You can bet there's a skid greased somewhere....

.C. lost 20,000 jobs in September marking the province's first monthly decrease since March, according to new Statistics Canada data.
The jobs lost in B.C. make up almost a third of the 68,000 jobs shed across Canada in September.
The hardest hit sectors were construction with 9,800 jobs lost, manufacturing with 8,100 jobs lost, and health care and social assistance with 6,800 jobs lost.

B.C.’s unemployment rate fell slightly by 0.1 percentage points, to 6.4 per cent.

Bryan Yu, chief economist at Central 1 Economics, said the job losses are indicative of a sluggish economy the province is seeing right now.

“Not a great number,” he said.

Moving over to municipal politics, I find it insane that a mayoral candidate announces with pride that a sobering centre is going to be built really soon here. They've already bought the land next to the CLINIC and all they have to do now is build it and staff it with 4 or 5 nurses and a couple of doctors. Does not anyone in the government understand that alcohol in TOFINO is the biggest problem for health issues,, Rcmp problems, crime, violence, family, problems, and the general well-being of the community? However, the NDP solution is to make it easier to get blind drunk and have a nice place to sleep it off with babysitters making sure you don't hurt yourself. This isn't helping the alcohol problem.
Almost as good as Victoria buying nice hotels, and turning them over to homeless people and drug addicts to wreck and ruin while solving nothing.

I am surprised that I have not seen, or heard any mention during this current election, of the scandal that took place a couple of years ago, in the BC Government’s Ministry of Energy while Josie was Minister of Energy. A BC company (Merritt-bsed Edison Motors) applied for a grant to advance logging trucks with hybrid diesel/electric motors. Their application was rejected by the accounting firm that was hired by the Province of BC to assist the Minister in assessing applications for the grant money. Edison Motors was told by the accounting firm that they should apply for much more money……. And that the accountants/consultants would do this for them, advance the application to the Minister, for a separate fee, a percent of the enlarged grant. The whole thing, conflict of interest, blew up in the Minister’s face with a motion, which passed, for the BC Legislature…. to investigate. That Investigation was side swiped by a quick call for a provincial election which led to the current NDP government….The whole story, er, investigation,,, just disappeared. The public has yet to receive an adequate explanation.

And how's that harm reduction working with drug addicts dying at a rate of 4 per day for the last couple of years? I may be naïve, but it seems to me that there's a certain amount of harm that comes from the ideas that safe supply, safe injection sites, and decriminalization are actually making drug addiction safer.........

My friend, the whole concept of government managing or controlling drug addicts in any manner whatsoever is simply, forgive the pun, a "pipe dream". You'll have the same success rate funding a program to herd cats.
Do you know the solution to the drug overdose problem? No? That's ok, I don't either, neither does anyone in the government. The difference between us and them is that you and I aren't throwing away millions of dollars on a fake left wing tender heart farce solution, pretending that we're doing something about it.
