Josie Osborne first joined the cabinet in 2020. She was appointed as the Minister of Municipal Affairs on November 26, 2020, shortly after being elected as an MLA. She has served in five different ministries as of August 2026. Then the ministry of land, water and resource stewartship where she Spearheaded the groundwork for building a co-managed land and resource management system with First Nations, fulfilling key commitments under the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act. Next came energy, then health, and now finance. Busy Josie Osborne. In those years, in all those appointments, what has she done for Tofino? for the west coast? for Port Alberni, or Qualicum? for the people she's supposed to represent? Whoops, in the climb to the top she forgot about us. This fiasco of an election is being blamed on Eby. It wasn't only his idea. Who do we all know that's a master at underhanded manipulation of the political system? Remember the bus vote? Josie Osborne was sent to Victoria to do a job. Now, instead of doing her job, she's decided to have an election and feather her own nest. Don't let her get away with it. Vote to hire someone else.
As of today, Tofino's taxpayers are paying over $960,000 per year in debt servicing charges on Josie's "hard work". I don't know what she has in store for the rest of B.C. if she's re-elected finance minister. Let's pray we never find out. The District of Tofino is projected to pay $964,741 in annual interest and expenses on debt according to the District of Tofino 2025-2029 Financial Plan Bylaw No. 1353.
Many units of substandard housing with no economic benefit to TOFINO other than slave quarters for low income people, social assistance folks, and people with disabilities. No ownership and no hope the benefits go to catalyst corporation in Vancouver.
Conservative MP for North Island–Powell River, Aaron Gunn, says he believes David Eby is going to face a very tough challenge against the BC Conservatives in the upcoming provincial snap election.
Aaron Gunn said that he believes Eby is one of the worst Premiers in the history of Canada and that the NDP will do everything they can to avoid having to campaign on their own record
Gunn says that provincial policies on blocking pipelines, SOGI, DRIPA and radical drug decriminalization have weakened BC over the last 10 years and that a strong Canada requires a strong province of British Columbia.
Gunn also confirmed on Ratio'd with Harrison Faulkner that he will be on the ground alongside other Conservative MPs campaigning in British Columbia on behalf of the BC Conservative Party.
Last election Osborne took 48.7% of the vote for vs 51.3% against, combined Conservative and Green. With the people all angry with her, she can easily lose. Where's Adam Hayduk, the Conservative candidate from last time? He's a good guy, will he offer to serve again? Only a few weeks to prepare, he can just recycle his campaign from last time. Let's hope he steps up.
Josie worked tirelessly to upgrade Hot Springs Cove . The provincial park there is truly a jewel of the area. She also facilitated the transformation of the Botanical Gardens into the modern Clayoquot Campus .
The Hot Springs were there long before Osborne came along with her strategy of attaching herself to a first nations cause, and using it to gain political points for herself.
Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt: How they plan to re-elect David Eby Here are the details you need.
Watch the next two weeks of coverage out of Victoria and you will see the plan.
Government-funded newsrooms will protect David Eby and Mark Carney. They will write the BC Conservatives as being dangerous. It is not complicated: it is Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt.
David Eby governs with a one-seat majority. He thinks the split on the right is a better ballot question than his own record. That’s why he called this election.
The drug policy that turned downtowns into open markets started in BC. The housing math that made a starter home a fantasy started here. The pipeline files that decide whether Western energy ever reaches a tidewater port are decided here. The ports that move precursor chemicals and finished fentanyl sit here.
When Ottawa talks about immigration targets it will not cut, the overflow shows up in BC shelters first.
Mark Carney needs David Eby. A safe NDP government on the coast is a partner on climate rules, on energy delay, and on the story that Western frustration is a temperament problem instead of a policy one. Taxpayer-funded national outlets have an interest in that story holding.
So here is how the coverage will run:
The BC Conservative Party will be “embattled,” “far-right,” “unelectable,” “in chaos.” Every defector will get a feature. Eby will be “election-ready,” “stable,” “standing up to Trump.” The deaths, the repeat offenders, the closed emergency rooms, the projects that never get built, the things that actually affect you and your family – those will be context, if they appear at all.
That is FUD. It is designed to make conservative voters stay home, or peel off, or decide the whole thing is too messy to touch. And it is spread by newsrooms that work for the government.
Kinda like the Westerly News. If you look at their webpage today you'll see one blurb about incumbent Josie Osborne, another that mentions her in the story. Nice exposure for Josie, Standing Strong for BC photo and the works! And buried a few articles below that there's a "former rodeo rider who got bucked off". (message you're supposed to get: this guy is a loser). You need to read through ten paragraphs of crap before you find out that the rodeo rider actually has decades of political experience and is a respected member of the political community. This is today's "journalism". Still not a word about Eric Galarneau.
Carney is already whipping it up with his ridiculous comment about preparing Canada for a potential military attack by the US. How is he going to prepare? More tampons in the mens rooms? Unfortunately, those that lack critical thinking skills run with the narrative.
He's getting ready by confiscating any scary looking rifles that hunters and sportsman and farmers legally owned up until about two or three years ago. Just like Holland before Hitler invaded. We still have BB guns and 22s.
It is nice to see Eby and Josie running on their achievements. There are now only 96,238 British Columbians waiting for surgery. This doesn't include the number of people who went out of country for care rather than wait. Almost 17,000 people have died while waiting, roughly 70% more than those who have died from the toxic drug crisis during the same time period. And somehow it is all Trumps fault.
....now this is only a copy paste of someone else's opinion, but: “ ATTENTION ALL OF B.C” Time to kick this useless POS to the curb. Here is how he has damaged BC so far: 1) Secret back door deals to give away our bought and paid for private property rights to Indigenous people. And then lying about it. 🤥 2) Trying to wipe out any trace of European settlers accomplishments by changing names of bridges and universities to made up Indigenous names. 3) Allowing a drug crisis which is turning out streets into slums and turning addicts into hunched over monkies. And creating so much crime that our communities no longer feel safe. 4) Killing the Forest Industry. The following Pulp and Paper Mills are now closed forever because of Eby and thousands of jobs lost. Crofton, Powell River and Howe Sound Pulp and Paper. These closures have devasted communities. 5) Changing the Home Owner Tax Deferral program from a low interest rate to a high interest rate, and changing it from simple interest to compound interest. Many seniors couldn't afford the taxes and had been deferring them. He has now forced them to now pay them. Which is causing financial hardship for them. 6) Called a State of Emergency during the BC Wildfires two weeks too late. Costing people their homes, farms and livelihoods. Although he eventually called a State of Emergency, he only kept the Military on standby and refused to deploy them. And there were 20,000 Evacuees from Summerland and he only made available 1,000 Hotel rooms. Leaving many in the lurch. And he refused to go to the Okanagan until after things had burned to the ground. 🔥 7). He disproportionately represents the 3.2 % of the Indigenous people in BC, while ignoring and not representing the rest of British Columbians. He does not care at all about the non -Indigenious British Columbians. This is called "unfair representation". 😎 He is giving away our parks to the Indigenous people and allowing them to close them a couple times of year disallowing us taxpayers access to the parks we pay for. 9) He has tripled our debt and yet our cost of living has gone way up. 10) He will not allow any of our natural resources to be used to generate money for us British Columbians. He is a slimy bastard who is destroying BC one stupid decision at a time. If you don't want your homes, land, parks and universities to be governed and owned by the Indigenous people, then you better vote Eby out now while you have a chance.
Eby and Carney, within a few days, are about to announce huge federal money for ocean protection and also the provincial approval of a pipeline that will bring billions to the first nations along the route, billions to B C, thousands of jobs, and solve all the potential problems we might have faced from Trump. Eby saved us! .....prepare to get excited, just in time for the vote!!
Don't be fooled. This pipeline and all its' benefits only exist on paper, being fast tracked in the major projects office with approval slated for half past June perhaps.
