Don't like pipelines? Joe's is an example of the type of lifestyle we choose to live. We complain about the "damage to the environment", we ridicule "silly" people who advocate bicycles or protest global warming, we justify our own extravagance by pointing fingers at others (DeCaprio took a jet to the climate summit!). We refuse to accept the reality of our situation and admit, even to ourselves, that the way we live is unsustainable.Like an ostrich, we bury our heads in the sand and just hope that it'll all go away. But it won't. It will only get worse, and worse. But who cares, we'll all be dead. Our kids and grandkids will be stuck with cleaning up our damage...... if the planet is still even capable of sustaining them. Or maybe it'll all just go away by magic or something. Me? I'm getting a bigger engine for my boat, and flying to Australia on an "eco-holiday", and I'll continue to recycle my soup cans and newspapers so I can feel like I'm "doing my part".
